Kashen Jewellery is an Australian label based in Perth founded by Kasia Grzesiak. Kasia graduated from Curtin University of Technology majoring in Jewellery Design. By day Kasia works as a designer for an exclusive jewellery store in Perth, Subiaco, by night the designer focuses on her fashion jewellery line. Kasia loves creating exquisite gold and diamond pieces in store but it is her jewellery line where she can explore and let loose.
The inspiration behind Kashen Jewellery is to create striking pieces of costume jewellery and fashion jewelry that can be worn everyday for any occasion. Every design is a distinctive art form which is completely wearable. Kashen Jewellery is created to inspire and provoke thought, to become a part of your collection, your journey.
The current collection After Midnight is a mix of modern elements, with glass as a main material, to form captivating and unique necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets. The designer focused mainly monochromatic black pieces but also played with pastels and striking orange colours. Dynamic shapes are one of the larger points of inspiration as well as nature, patterns and repletion. The texture and spontaneity of glass played a major role in the collection.
'Working with glass I enjoyed creating different surfaces - from smooth to rough. The structure and fluidity of it creates beautiful contrast on the body and becomes more than just an adornment transforming into life-like sculptures'.
Striving to be different, the current collection uses a wide range of materials such as aluminium, perspex, plastic beads, paper, brass, copper and silver. All of the pieces are made by hand and no two pieces look the same so you can enjoy an individual and unique piece of glass jewellery. Although the glass pieces may look fragile they are very durable when worn. The next collection will truly remain in Kashen style: romantic, beautiful and unique using materials such as perspex, various beads and silver.
